MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team is set to welcome the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University for a midweek GAC doubleheader meeting this Tuesday, March 11 starting at 4:00 p.m. Both games are currently scheduled to be played at Alvy Early Field at Ryburn Park, however, due to field conditions from the weather over the weekend in Monticello, these games are subject to change.

LAST MEETING
Southern Arkansas University - The Blossoms lost to the Muleriders in the last meeting on April 16, 2024, 11-2. The second game of the doubleheader was canceled due to weather in Monticello. The Muleriders scored a run in the first inning to take an early lead over the Blossoms. SAU would grow that lead in the fifth, scoring seven more runs to increase their lead to 8-0. Lexie Smith got UAM on the board in the bottom half of the fifth, scoring Adrianna Erichsen on an RBI single to left. Courtnee Sensibaugh scored in the sixth on a throwing error to cut the SAU lead down to 8-2. Southern Arkansas' offense rallied again in the seventh, pushing their advantage over UAM to 11-2. Monticello could not respond in the bottom of the inning, resulting in a loss. Mallory Pitre took the loss on the mound falling to an 8-10 record for the season.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Southern Arkansas University - Arkansas-Monticello leads in the record 54-51, dating back to the first match a 1-4 loss in April of 1999. At home in Monticello the Blossoms are 24-22, in Magonlia they are 25-24, and through conference play, they sit at 47-43. The longest win streak for the ladies in green and white sits at nine games won between March 2012 and April 2013. 10 days after their first meeting with the Muleriders, UAM took the largest margin of victory a dominating 19-1 win. Through 105 games played in total, the Blossoms have run home 431 times averaging 4.1 runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLOSSOMS
The Blossoms went 1-2 last week, falling to the Golden Suns in the series-opening doubleheader, 9-1 and 5-3, on March 7. The following day, March 8, thanks to a five-run rally in the sixth, the Blossoms secured a win over ATU, 7-4.
