MONTICELLO, Ark. - The Arkansas-Monticello softball team will close out a seven game home stand Tuesday, March 18 as they welcome the Lady Statesmen of Delta State University to Alvy Early Field at Ryburn Park. First pitch of the doubleheader is currently set for 2:00 p.m. 

LAST MEETING
Delta State University -  The Blossoms split the last meeting with the Lady Statesmen in Cleveland this season, 0-1 and 4-1. Delta State was the only team to score in game one, scoring the lone run on a solo home run to center field in the sixth. The Lady Statesmen scored first again in game two, plating a run in the second on a wild pitch. Dacia Sexton drove in Lauren Spoon for UAM's first run of the day on a double to right center in the third. The Blossoms found a second run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from Sophie Wood to take the lead. Aubree Goodnight drove in the third run in the seventh on a single through the six-hole. She was followed by a bases-loaded walk from Jadyn Hart to plate the fourth run of the ball game for Monticello. The game would conclude with a 4-1 win for the Blossoms.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Delta State University - UAM holds a slight lead in the record, 57-55-1, which dates back to the first meeting in February of 1996. The first win for the Blossoms would not come until April of 1999, in a 9-inning 4-3 win, and the only tie in history was in 1997 ending 4-4. Arkansas-Monticello is 31-28-1 at home and 20-25 in Cleveland, Miss. The conference record between both teams, when they played in the Gulf South Conference stands at 27-20. The largest margin of victory stands at 10-0 which happened in March of 2001, with the longest win streak standing at 10 (March 2006-April 2012). Through 113 games the Blossoms have plated 451 with a 3.99 average runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLOSSOMS
The Blossoms took on the Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State University coming out the three-game series with a sweep. UAM won both games Sunday, March 16,  4-1 and 8-7, before securing the sweep on Monday, March 17 in a 7-6 nine-inning victory.
