GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Arkansas-Monticello women's golf team traveled to Greeneville, Tennessee this week to take part in the Agnes McAmis Memorial golf tournament at the Link Hills Country Club. The 36-hole tournament, hosted by Tusculum University kicked off on Monday, March 17 with the Blossoms finishing tied for fourth after 18 holes with a combined first-round score of 320 (+36)
Leading the Blossoms after the first 18 holes is freshman
Tori Milton who penciled a 4-over par (75) to finish the day tied for third.
Carding a 77 (+6), senior
Shehna Akbary closed out the first round tied for ninth.
Sophomore
Natalie Van Dort was next for the Blossoms, finished tied for 12th after firing a 7-over par (78) on day one.
Two freshmen competed individually for Arkansas-Monticello,
Renata Abad and
Cadee Glasgow. Abad finished tied for 14th after putting up a 70 (+8), while Glasgow finished the first round with a 14-over par (85) to tie for 32nd.
Tying for 44th with an 18-hole final score of 90 (+14) was junior
Robbi Jo Freeman.
Closing the day out for the Cotton Blossoms was
Ximena Paz who fired a first round of 25-over par (+96) to finish the day tied for 48th.
The Blossoms will return to the greens tomorrow, Tuesday, March 18 to compete in the final round of the Agnes McAmis Memorial Tournament from the Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville, Tenn. As with today's round, the final round will not be scored live.
