LAST MEETING
Northwestern Oklahoma State University - The Blossoms took the last series meeting from the Lady Rangers, 2-1 in April of 2024, going 2-10 and 9-2 on senior night and 5-4 on the Sunday matinee. NWOSU was the first team to score on the day, posting nine runs throughout the first five innings. Lexie Smith got the Blossoms on the board in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single to center. The Rangers found a tenth run in the sixth inning and Monticello was unable to respond, resulting in the game ending in six. Game two proved to be a total flip of momentum from the first. UAM would score seven runs throughout the opening four innings, with Ronnie Johnson driving in the first on a SAC fly, followed by an error and a bases-loaded walk to cross two more runs across the plate. Madison Gardiner drove in two on a single down the right-field line and Johnson drove in another run on her second SAC of the day. Bailey Camp drove in the seventh run in the fourth on a double to center field. The Rangers got on the board in the fifth, scoring two runs to make it a 7-2 game. Maggie Miller singled to left to drive in UAM's eighth run and Coutnee Sensibaugh lined out to deep left for a SAC to score the final run of the game. Sam Stephens was the winning pitcher for game two. Game three of the conference series started with the Rangers taking a 2-0 lead within the first three innings. The Blossoms finally responded in the bottom of the third with a solo home run from Emily Cecil to cut the Rangers lead in half 2-1. UAM saw another run cross the plate when Kennedy Cox brought home Emmy Apodaca on a SAC fly to center field, tying the game 2-2. NWOSU took the lead once again after a solo home run in the top of the fourth. A single to the shortstop from Grace Neal plated another run for the Blossoms to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth. Monticello took the lead in the sixth after an RBI double from Courtnee Sensibaugh brought Kayla Richardson across the plate. Another solo home run from the Rangers in the top of the seventh tied up the game once again, bringing the Blossoms back to the plate in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on second, Kennedy Cox singled down the right field line to bring Adrianna Erichsen in to score in walk-off fashion. Kyann Woods saw the win on the mound for the closing of senior weekend.
