MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Arkansas-Monticello baseball team hosted the Reddies of Henderson State University at Union Bank Park on Tuesday evening. The non-conference midweek game saw the Reddies set the stage early for an eventual 11-9 loss for the Boll Weevils.

Scoring Recap:
Henderson State jumped ahead early, scoring four total runs in the first after taking the first pitch of the ball game over the scoreboard. The Reddies would go on to score one in the second, three in the third, and one in the fourth to increase their lead to 9-0.
Justin Santoyo put UAM on the board in the bottom of the fourth, driving in two runs on a single to right. Brodie Romero wore a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in a third run.
Arkansas-Monticello saw a fourth run in the fifth as Chase Cripps drove in Camden Tanner on a triple to right center field.
The sixth inning saw one run for HSU and three runs for UAM. A double down the left field line gave the Reddies a 10-4 lead, but a three-run home run to center field from Roc Hawthorne brought the Weevils back within three.
Henderson State scored a final run in the seventh on a single.
UAM scored two runs in the ninth as a last-effort push from the offense. Back-to-back doubles from Justin Santoyo and Eli Marvin scored the first, followed by an RBI from Cade Cancilla. The effort fell short as UAM would drop the game, 11-9.
Pitching Performances
- Tyler Bribiescas started on the mound, taking the loss for the Weevils with five earned runs on five hits in his 1.2 innings. He struck out one batter.
- Ryan Mesaris saw 1.0 inning of work, giving up three runs on three hits. He struck out a batter in his outing.
- Nathan McManus tossed 2.1 innings with only one earned run on four hits and five Ks.
- Aidan McGee was the fourth pitcher on the mound for UAM, seeing 1.1 innings with one earned run on two hits and two strikeouts.
- Kyle Roop grabbed 1.2 inning, striking out two batters with no runs and two hits allowed.
- Lane Imhoff threw the final inning, allowing no runs and no hits with a strikeout through five batters.
