MONROE, La. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's golf team continued spring action at the Bayou DeSiard Country Club in Monroe, Louisiana. The first two rounds played out on Monday with the Blossoms closing out the day in 10th place with a combined score of 636 (+60).
Leading the day for the Blossoms was senior
Shehna Akbary. Akbary penciled a 1-over par (73) in round one, and a 71 (-1) in round two, to finish the day tied for 9th place at even-par (144).
Freshman
Renata Abad finished the first two rounds of the tournament with a score of 158 (+14), to tie for 48th. Abad fired an 81 (+9) in round one and a +5 (77) in round two.
Finishing in 54th place with a two-round combined score of 18-over par (162), was freshman
Tori Milton. Milton shot 12-over par (84) in the first round before cutting her mark in half at 78 (+6).
Sophomore
Natalie Van Dort shot an 86 (+14) in both opening rounds to finish the first day with a score of 172 (+28), resulting in 57th place.
Closing out the opening rounds for UAM was freshman
Cadee Glasgow in 57 place, 37-over par (181). Glasgow started the day shooting 21-over par (93), then dropping to 88(+16) in the second round.
Combined the Arkansas-Monticello fired 14 birdies between rounds one and two.
The Blossoms will play their final round of the tournament on Tuesday, April 1.
