MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team has altered its travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas due to weather, they are now set to take on the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University on Sunday, April 6 and Monday, April 7. The series will kick off on with a doubleheader on Sunday at the "Petesy" Langston Softball Field at 4:00 p.m., with game three to be played on Monday with the first pitch at noon.

LAST MEETING
Ouachita Baptist University - The Blossoms won the last series meeting with the Tigers, 2-1 (7-4, 13-5, 8-12) in March 2024. Game one started with a bang as the Blossoms were the first on the board with a solo home run from Bailey CampSophie Wood also launched one over the fence, bringing in Kennedy Cox in the second to put the Blossoms on top 3-0.  The Tigers scored two in the top of the third, but the Blossoms responded over the next three innings. A single up the middle from Arianna Erichson brought Kammie Walker across the plate. The bottoms of the sixth inning would bring in three more runs for UAM, as they capitalized on Ouachita's errors, making the score 7-2.  Kyann Woods struck out the remaining two batters of the seventh, giving the Blossoms a 7-4 victory over the Tigers. The Tigers opened game two with some pop, scoring three in the first inning, with two of those runs coming from a home run. Ouachita kept UAM scoreless until an eight-run inning in the bottom of the third. The Blossoms saw the bases loaded twice in the inning, scoring runners each time off of RBI singles from both Bailey Camp and Kennedy CoxMadison Gardiner singled through the left side to bring Kayla Richardson across the plate, and Courtnee Sensibaugh plated two more runs for the Blossoms on a double down the left-field line to complete the eight-run inning.  The Blossoms went on to score four more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Maggie Miller hit a pinch-hit single through the left side to bring in Emmy Apodaca and Bailey Camp singled to bring two more runs across the plate for UAM, setting them up for a run-rule victory over the Tigers. Grace Neal singled to center to bring Camp home for the run-rule victory over Ouachita Baptist, 13-5. The Blossoms were the first on the board, seeing Grace Neal bring home Adrianna Erichsen on an RBI single to left in the first. Ouachita Baptist scored two runs in the top of the fourth to take a 2-1 lead, but the effort was short-lived, as an RBI single from Emmy Apodaca would plate Kayla Richardson to tie the game 2-2. Kennedy Cox drove in Erichsen on a SAC fly in the fifth. The inning came to a close with UAM leading 3-2. The sixth inning saw 15 total runs scored between the two teams, with the Tigers scoring 10 in the top half of the inning. The Blossoms rallied in the bottom with a bases-loaded single from Bailey Camp to score Apodaca. Courtnee Sensibaugh and Adrianna Erichsen crossed the plate on an error from the Tigers to make it a 12-6 game. Lexie Smith drove in the final two runs of the game on a double down the right-field line. Despite the Blossoms' best efforts, they were unable to overcome the Tiger lead, dropping game three of the series, 12-8. Mallorie Pitre and Sam Stephens were the winning pitchers in games one and two respectively.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Ouachita Baptist University - The Blossoms hold a commanding lead in the all-time series 57-26, dating back to the first game played on March 14, 2002, an 11-0 victory for UAM. The Cotton Blossoms are currently 31-12 at home and 23-13 in Arkadelphia. The largest margin of victory for the ladies in green and white came in the second-ever game, 17-0. UAM won 10 straight games between March 2002 and April 2004. Through 83 games played the Blossoms have plated 497 runs home, averaging 5.99 runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLOSSOMS
The Blossoms dropped their GAC series to Harding 2-1, falling in games one and two, 9-6 and 7-0, before besting the Lady Bisons in extra innings in game three, 5-4.
