Fort Smith, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's golf team closed out the first round of the GAC Championship Monday at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The Blossoms hit a combined team score of 315 in the first round to finish the day in 5th place at 35-over par.
Tori Milton and
Shehna Akbary led the way for the Blossoms on day one, carding in a 6-over par (76), to finish the day tied for 8th
Concluding round one with a 78 (+8), was
Renata Abad who tied for 17th.
Ximena Paz was next for Arkansas-Monticello penciling a 85 (+15) to conclude the first round tied for 34th.
Natalie Van Dort closed things out for the Blossoms on day one with a total of 87 (+17), to finish in 42nd.
The Blossoms continue the GAC Championship Tournament tomorrow, April 22 at 9:00 a.m.
