MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team is set to conclude their 2025 regular season this Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26, in Bethany, Oklahoma as they take on the Crimson Storm at Tere Webber Field (Cypert Athletic Complex). The three-game series will commence with a 4:00 p.m. first pitch on Saturday, followed by a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 2:00 p.m.
LAST MEETING
Southern Nazarene - The Blossoms fell in the last series, 2-1 (0-5, 5-4, 0-3), in March 2024. Southern Nazarene scored all five of their runs of game one in the third inning, taking a 5-0 lead over the Blossoms. UAM was unable to respond throughout the remainder of the game. Game one on the weekend concluded with a 5-0 loss for the Blossoms. The Blossoms scored first in game two, taking advantage of an error by the shortstop in the first to take a 1-0 lead over SNU. Southern Nazarene found a run in the top of the second on a Blossom throwing error to make it a 1-1 game.
Courtnee Sensibaugh drove in a run in the bottom of the inning on a SAC fly to reclaim the lead for the Blossoms. A two-RBI double in the top of the sixth gave SNU a 3-2 lead over UAM.
Kammie Walker drove in the Blossoms' third run of the game in the bottom half of the sixth, putting the game back at 3-3. SNU found a fourth run in the top of the eighth inning to push into a 4-3 lead over UAM.
Bailey Camp drove in
Lexie Smith for the equalizer in the bottom half of the inning.
Courtnee Sensibaugh drove in the game-winner on a walk-off single to left, scoring
Jadyn Hart as the final run of the day. Southern Nazarene was the first on the board in game three, scoring a run in both the third and fourth innings to take a lead over UAM. They scored a third run in the sixth on a SAC fly to right. The Blossoms were unable to respond throughout the remainder of the ball game, missing opportunities with multiple runners left on base.
Kyann Woods was the winning pitcher in game two of the series.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Southern Nazarene - The all-time series record is currently tied, 20-20 with the Crimson Storm, and dates back to the first meeting in February of 2013, a 2-0 win for the UAM. The Blossoms are currently, 14-7 when playing at Alvy Early Field, and 8-10 when in Bethany. The two teams have met three times in Bentonville, with the Blossoms falling in each game. The largest margin of victory for the ladies in green and white came in just their third overall game with SNU, a 15-2 win in 5 innings. Through 40 games held, the Blossoms have plated 172 runs home averaging 4.3 runs per game.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLOSSOMS
The Blossoms won the series over East Central this past weekend, 2-1 (7-2, 4-2, 6-5). The final game came down to a last-minute stadium stunning run from
Emmy Apodaca in the bottom of the seventh inning.
