ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Blossoms split the final two games of their series with the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist on Monday evening. They dropped game one, 6-3, before winning game two, 9-8. By winning game two, the Blossoms prevented a Tigers sweep, falling in the series 2-1.

Game 2, 7 Innings
 
Arkansas-Monticello: 3, Ouachita Baptist: 6

Scoring Recap:
The Blossoms were first on the board scoring two runs in the second. Jessica Smith ran in on a Lauren Spoon double to centerfield. Spoon would cross home as Lainey Tippen doubled to the right side.

Ouachita got on in the third scoring two runs off a single to second base.

Spoon would reach first on a fielding error that would plate Smith for the third and final run for UAM.

The Tigers would score their remaining four runs in the fourth, winning the game in seven innings, 6-3.

Pitching Performance:
- Kayla Olthouse suffered the loss in the circle, allowing six runs on six hits while striking out three batters in her 3.2 innings of work.
- Ronnie Johnson closed out the game pitching the remaining 2.1 innings, allowing only two hits while facing eight batters.

Offensive Scoring Performance:
- Lainey Tippen - 2-for-3 with a double and 1RBI.
- Lauren Spoon - 1-for-2 with a double, 1RBI, one run scored and a stolen base.
- Jessica Smith - 1-for-1 with two runs scored.

Scoring Recap:
UAM scored the first four runs of the game in innings one and two. Lexie Livezey commenced the scoring crossing home as Sophie Wood singled up the middle. Wood herself came home as Maddie Pfleging singled up the middle in the first. Dacia Sexton tripled down the right-field line in the second to score Lainey Tippen and Lauren Spoon. 

The Tigers scored three runs in the second and one in the fifth to tie the game, 4-4.

The Blossoms began to clip the claws of the Tigers scoring four runs in the seventh to take a 9-4 lead. Makenzie Martin ran in on a bases-loaded hit by pitch walk. Pfelging singled up the middle bringing home Jadyn Hart, followed by a Tippen single that brought in Vyanna Quezada and Jade Keaton. The final run for Arkansas-Monticello was achieved by Pfelging scoring on a Dacia Sexton single to left. 

The Tigers would not go out quietly, scoring four runs themselves in the bottom of the seventh, but it wouldn't be enough to top the Blossoms, who would win, 9-8.

Pitching Performance:
- Kyann Woods started in the circle for the Blossoms pitching 2.1 innings, allowing three runs on four hits.
- Ronnie Johnson was called from the bullpen to pitch 2.0 innings allowing one run on two hits.
- Makenzie Martin took the win for the game pitching 2.0 innings, while allowing four runs on five hits. 
- Kayla Olthouse earned the save, pitching 0.2 innings and facing two batters.

Offensive Scoring Performance:
- Lainey Tippen - 3-for-4 with 2RBIs and one run scored.
- Maddie Pfleging - 2-for-4 with 2RBIs and one run scored.
- Sophie Wood - 1-for-3 with an RBI and one run scored.

Due Up for the Blossoms
The Blossoms (15-22, 9-14 GAC) are set to return to the diamond for a doubleheader on Friday, April 11 in Durant, Oklahoma to open GAC series action with the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The first pitch of game one is slated for 1:00 p.m.
