MANKATO, Minn. – The No. 7 seed Arkansas-Monticello baseball team took on the No. 2 seed Minnesota State University Mavericks Sunday in a must-win elimination game to advance to the title game of the Minnesota pod of the central region tournament. The Boll Weevils fell 2-7, in the afternoon affair with the Mavericks, concluding their 2025 season with a 33-23 record.

Scoring Recap:
Cade Cancilla kicked off the day for the Weevils coming home and placed the first run of the game at the top of the third off a Kirk Woolf single up the middle. Woolf saw himself rounding home to make it, 2-0, as Justin Santoyo singled to right field.

The Mavericks responded by taking the lead with four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning off a single to right field and back-to-back home runs over the right field wall. MSU tacked on three more runs in the fourth with a home run to left field and a single to the center that placed two to extend the Mavericks lead by five, 7-2.

-Minnesota State would hold UAM scoreless in the remaining four innings, taking the game, and eliminating the Weevils from the tournament.

Pitching Performance
- Ruben Macias started on the mound, and suffered the setback, for the Weevils. in his 3.0 innings pitched, he allowed four runs on five hits, striking out one batter.
- Dylan Vail entered the game in the third and gave up three runs on two hits in his 1.0 innings of work.
- Bryce Louis was called from the bull pen to pitch, and he allowed just two hits and struck out two batters in the process in his 3.1 innings pitched.
- Kyle Roop entered the game to pitch the remainder of the eighth inning and face three batters.

Offensive Showcase
-  Kirk Woolf - 2-for-3 with a stolen base, 1RBI, and one run scored.
- Justin Santoyo - 1-for-2 with 1RBI and 1BB.
- Cade Cancilla - 1-for-3 with one run scored.
