2025 Arkansas-Monticello Blossoms Roster | GAC Volleyball
MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Volleyball team is returning to Monticello on Tuesday night for the 2025 home opener as well as its Great American Conference opener. The Blossoms are set to take on Ouachita Baptist, the defending GAC Champions, inside Steelman Fieldhouse at 6:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear black for the Black Out Night atmosphere.  

*Due to current renovations to Steelman Fieldhouse there are changes in place for the 2025 season, those changes can be found below.*

"Ouachita is very strong, but always fun to play against," said Head Coach Arlicia Ortiz. "We've been utilizing pre-season to focus on our strengths and who we are as a team, so that's our game plan. We're going to make adjustments as we need to."
 

All-TIME SERIES
Ouachita Baptist University - 
This will be the 41st meeting between the Blossoms and the Tigers, with Ouachita Baptist holding a 31-10 record over UAM. The last meeting between the Blossoms and the Tigers took place on November 17 in Monticello, resulting in a 3-1 (16-25, 25-14, 11-25, 21-25) loss for UAM. The last win for ladies in green and white came via a 3-2 decision on September 6, 2022, at home in Steelman. At home, the Blossoms trail 7-14, while they trail 3-16 away, with a 9-30 overall conference record.
 

LAST MEETING
Ouachita Baptist University - 
The Blossoms lost 3-1 to the Tigers in November 2024. Ouachita took the first set 25-12. UAM bounced back to win the second set 25-14, but dropped the next two, 25-11 and 25-21. The Blossoms finished with a .055 hitting percentage, 68 digs, 36 assists, 5 blocks, 12 aces, and 37 kills.
 

BLOSSOMS BY THE NUMBERS

  • Arkansas-Monticello has played 24 sets this season, averaging a .107 hitting percentage. The team averages 16.13 digs, 9.52 kills, 8.38 assists, 1.04 blocks, and 1.71 service aces per set.
  • Sophia Grubbs ranks second in the conference in kills, averaging 3.33 kills (70) in 21 sets played.
  • Brooklynn Meredith ranks first in the conference in serving aces, averaging 0.73 aces (11) in 15 sets played.
  • Mia Smalls ranks eighth in the conference in digs, averaging 3.88 digs (93) in 24 sets played.
  • Jordan Wehr ranks ninth in the conference in digs, averaging 3.79 digs (91) in 24 sets played.

BLOSSOM SEASON LEADERS
The Blossoms are led on the court by; kills, Sophia Grubbs (72), aces, Brooklynn Meredith (11), digs, Mia Smalls (103), blocks, Jalen Scroggins (13), and assists, Mia Smalls (121). Leading UAM in double-doubles is Mia Smalls with eight, with one triple-double.

LAST TIME OUT THIS SEASON
The Blossoms went 2-0 on Saturday, September 20, at the Christian Brothers University Tri-match. UAM went 3-0 (30-25, 25-17, 25-17) against tri-match host Christian Brothers University, followed by a sweep, 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-21) over Alcorn State University. With these two sweeps, the Blossoms have now recorded three consecutive sweeps for the first time since 2015.

ENTRANCE, RESTROOMS AND CONCESSIONS CHANGES

  • Due to current renovations to Steelman Fieldhouse, the following have been changed:
    • The entrance for the 2025 season will be on the west side of Steelman next to the football field. Home fans will have to wait between serves to cross to the home bleachers once the match commences.
    • Portable bathrooms for all fans are on the opposite side of the Steelman next to the baseball field.
    • There will be no concessions available for home matches, and outside food and drinks will not be allowed into the gym.
