Faulk Leads Boll Weevils to 31-24 Win Over Arkansas Tech

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team traveled to Russellville on Saturday evening. The Boll Weevils took on fellow Great American Conference member Arkansas Tech University for their week four match-up of the 2025 season. The contest concluded with a 31-24 win for UAM.

Quarterback Tavion Faulk gave a 21-35 performance with 390 passing yards. TJ Fields was the leading receiver in the game, grabbing eight receptions for 104 total yards, with the longest being 24 yards. AK Hazley was right behind with three receptions and 72 yards. On the ground, Jaylen Sulton led the Boll Weevils with 13 carries for 43 yards.

Defensively, Dajon Doss and Terrell Taylor stood above the rest with seven total tackles and four solo stops on the night each.

Charles Stinson led the day on special teams, going 2-3 on PATs, hitting a 24-yard field goal.

Boll Weevil Head Coach Hud Jackson had this to say after the game: "This was a huge win for our program. I'm so proud of these coaches and players and our support staff. We're going to enjoy this one until we get cranked up for practice tomorrow at 4 o'clock. We have a big week this week, playing for 60 minutes is the key for us. These young men deserve to win like that. Eat'em up."

  • 04:53 – UAM | The Weevils were the first on the board with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Tavion Faulk to TJ Fields.
  • 01:55 – UAM | Drew Dronet pulled in an 85-yard pass from Tavion Faulk to increase UAM's lead to 13-0. 
Second Quarter
  • 13:21 – ATU | A 10-yard rushing touchdown by the Wonder Boys put ATU on the board.
  • 08:46 – ATU | The Wonder Boys saw a 21-yard field goal to make it a 13-10 game.
Third Quarter
  • 12:22 – ATU | Arkansas Tech reclaimed the lead, 17-13, on a 27-yard passing touchdown.
Fourth Quarter
  • 09:51 – UAM | A 24-yard field goal made by Charles Stinson brought the game to 17-16. 
  • 09:32 – ATU | Arkansas Tech saw a 34-yard rushing touchdown to increase their lead to 24-16.
  • 07:16 – UAM | Chasden Collins connected with Tavion Faulk for an 18-yard reception touchdown to put UAM within two. Jaylen Sulton rushed in for the two-point conversion, tying the game, 24-24. 
  • 01:01 – UAM | Jaylen Sulton rushed 4 yards into the endzone for UAM's final touchdown of the game, resulting in a 31-24 win for the Weevils.

Arkansas-Monticello will host Southern Nazarene University on Saturday, Oct. 4, for the UAM Homecoming game, sponsored by Commercial Bank/Ryburn Automotive. The Boll Weevils and Crimson Storm are scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. CT kickoff.
