ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The University of Arkansas Monticello volleyball team traveled to Arkadelphia, Arkansas for Tuesday night match up with the Reddies of Henderson State University. The Blossoms fell to the Reddies 0-3 (25-21, 25-13, 25-16) inside Duke Wells Center falling to a over all record of (3-10, 0-4 GAC).
UAM was held to a .061 hitting percentage on 52 digs, 26 assists, 2 blocks, 5 aces, and 27 kills.
SET-BY-SET
FIRST SET (25-21 HSU, HSU leads 1-0)
The opening set began with Arkansas-Monticello falling behind in the scoreboard, 7-2, to Henderson State. The Reddies' offense pushed forth to extend their lead, 13-4. The Blossoms would not give up, cutting the deficit to just one point, 22-21, but HSU took the first set, 25-21, following a 3-0 rally.
SECOND SET (25-13 HSU, HSU leads 2-0)
Set two began evenly matched with the Blossoms and Reddies tied 4-4. After exchanging points back-and-forth, Henderson State pulled ahead with a 6-0 rally to push them into a 16-7 advantage. The Blossoms could not break the deficit as the Reddies rallied to take set two, 25-13.
THIRD SET (25-16 HSU, HSU wins 3-0)
The third set looked to be similar to the second with both teams tied 5-5. Henderson State would flip the set in their favor, taking the lead by adding 17 points to UAM's 6, to bring the set to 22-11. The Blossoms' last minute rally proved unsuccessful as the Reddies would take the final set, 25-16, and the match, 3-0.

The Blossoms are back on the court Thursday, October 2 inside Steelman Fieldhouse in Monticello, Arkansas for an early evening match with the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m. with both teams vying for their first GAC win.
