UAM Volleyball Drops Pink Out Match, 0-3

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team welcomed #24 Oklahoma Baptist University to Steelman Fieldhouse on Friday afternoon for its 2026 Pink Out match, raising awareness and honoring those who have battled or are currently battling breast cancer. The Boll Weevils fought through the match before falling to the Bison (19-25, 20-25, 15-25).
 

FIRST SET (16-25 OBU, OBU leads 1-0)
Oklahoma Baptist opened the match with a 5-0 lead before Arkansas-Monticello began to fight back. Isabella Garcia, Sophia Grubbs, and Evalyn Dang helped the Weevils gain momentum, with Garcia adding a service ace as UAM battled back to tie the set at 10-10. The Weevils briefly took an 11-10 advantage before the Bison regained control. UAM stayed within striking distance, cutting the deficit to two at 17-15 following a kill from Jalen Scroggins. Despite a late push from Monticello, Oklahoma Baptist closed out the opening set, 25-19.

SECOND SET (20-25 OBU, OBU leads 2-0)
The Bison carried their momentum into the second set, jumping out to an early 10-4 advantage before extending their lead to 16-6. Arkansas-Monticello continued to battle, with Kylie Miller, Sophia Grubbs, and Isabella Garcia contributing kills. Shayla Lacamiento sparked a late UAM rally with back-to-back service aces, helping the Weevils cut into the deficit. Monticello continued to fight down the stretch, with Grubbs and Jalen Scroggins adding kills to bring UAM within three at 23-20. However, Oklahoma Baptist secured the final two points to take the set, 25-20.

THIRD SET (15-25 OBU, OBU wins 3-0)
Arkansas-Monticello battled early in the third set, with Kylie Miller and Isabella Garcia helping keep the Weevils close. Garcia delivered a pair of service aces as UAM worked its way back to tie the score at 6-6. Sophia Grubbs and Summer Stephens contributed kills to give Monticello an 11-10 advantage midway through the set. The teams remained close at 12-12 before Oklahoma Baptist pulled ahead with a scoring run. Garcia added two late kills for the Weevils, but the Bison maintained control and closed out the match with a 25-15 victory.
