MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils (5-5, 4-0) were back in action Friday evening for their first home series of the season at Weevils Field at Union Bank Park. A back-and-forth contest exploded wide open in the seventh, securing a run-rule, 16-6 win over the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University (4-6, 1-3 GAC).

The Boll Weevils took control of the board first in the bottom of the first with two runs, one off a wild pitch from OBU's starting pitcher, who gave time for
Elijah Olaybal to score. The second off
Eli Marvin's single to shortstop that plated
Gabe Kuttenkuler.
Oklahoma Baptist placed four runs of their own in the top of the third off a stolen base run, and a two-run homer to right center.
UAM tied the game in the bottom half of the inning as
Camden Tanner rounded home off Marvin's single to left field.
The Bison's last three runs of the game came in the top of the fifth off a single through the right side and a two-run home run down the left field line.
Eli Marvin sent a two-run shot over the center field wall in the bottom of the fifth, bringing in Olaybal to make it a one-run game.
The bottom of the sixth saw
Jackson Riedling send a ball out over the brand new scoreboard in right center to tie the game six all, before
Daniel Lizarraga plated
Beau Kuttenkuler off a single to right field. The eighth run for the Weevils came courtesy of a single to center field off the bat of
Elijah Olaybal to score
Drew Floyd.
The Boll Weevils run ruled the Bison in the bottom of the seventh, driving in eight runs. Three straight hit by pitch batters loaded the bases. A
Camden Tanner walk kicked off the scoring, plating Riedling. With bases still loaded, a fourth hit by pitch of the inning brought in
Beau Kuttenkuler. Floyd scored on a single to right-center by Olaybal. Tanner came home on a single from
Gabe Kuttenkuler.
Eli Marvin singled to right field and reached third on an OBU error, bringing in Olaybal and Lizarraga to make it 15-6. Needing one run to close the game early,
Darcy Barry singled down the left field line, plating Marvin and beating the Bison 16-6.
