MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team will host the Choctaws of Mississippi College ina doubleheader on Tuesday, February 24 at Alvy Early Softball Field at Ryburn Park for their 2026 home opener.

LAST MEETING
Mississippi College -  The Blossoms fell in the last doubleheader with the Lady Choctaws in 2025, 4-5 | 11-0. Mississippi College struck first in the top of the first courtesy of a UAM error that advanced a runner home. The Choctaws would add their remaining four runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings. A single to the pitcher would plate a run in the third, a two-run home run to right field in the fourth, made it 4-0, and the remaining run for MC would be scored on a wild pitch from UAM. The Blossoms would start the rally in the bottom of the fourth adding three to the board making it a two-run game. With bases loaded Maddie Pfleging would reach first on an error from the Choctaws shortstop advancing Lauren Spoon home. An Aubree Goodnight grounder to the pitcher would plate Lainey Tippen, with the final run of the inning coming from Dacia Sexton who reached home via another error from the Mississippi College shortstop. Arkansas-Monticello's rally stopped after recording just one last run in the bottom of the sixth. Lainey Tippen doubled down the right field line allowing Jade Keaton to reach home from second base. 10 of the 11 runs scored for MC in game two came off the Choctaws' bats. Mississippi College plated three runs in the top of the first, two from a home run down the left field line and one off a UAM wild pitch. MC upped the lead to six, from a full-count home run to left center that plated three. The remaining five runs were etched onto the scoreboard in the top of the fifth, a home run to left field ran in three, and a home run to right field brought in the remaining two.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Mississippi College -  The Choctaws lead in the record, 4-11. The first meeting between the two teams started in March of 1996 seeing the Blossoms take the first loss, 1-9. The first win for UAM would come the same day in the second part of the doubleheader, 9-3. The other three wins would be consecutive on March 18 and 20 of 1997 (3-0, 5-1, 15-2). The 15-2 win would be the largest margin in a win for the Blossoms in the history of the matchups. At home in Monticello the Blossoms are 4-7, while on the road they are 0-2. Through 15 games played the Blossoms have plated 58 runs, averaging 3.87 runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLOSSOMS
