MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team hosted East Central University Saturday afternoon inside Steelman Field House. The Weevils came out of the contest with a 75-56 loss to the Tigers. 

Isaac Jackson led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (9-12, 5-10 GAC), posting 20 points in the game. Jackson hit 9-20 total field goals on the day, one three-pointer, and 1-5 free throws. He also contributed four offensive rebounds in his 36 minutes, along with five assists and three steals.

Josh Smith and Ashton Price saw 14 points posted apiece as the final Boll Weevils in the double-digits. Smith hit 6-9 field goals and 2-4 free throws while grabbing six total rebounds, one assist, a block, and three steals. Price hit 4-9 field goals, two three-pointers, and 4-6 free throws, while grabbing two defensive rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

East Central (11-10, 6-9 GAC) was led by Brandon Mann with 18 points. 

Arkansas-Monticello opened the first half of the game with a jumper from Isaac Jackson to start a back-and-forth battle with East Central, seeing five lead changes. The Tigers flipped the script in their favor, seeing the game tied one final time with 08:19 left on the clock. ECU held control for the remainder of the half, increasing their lead by seven. The teams would head to the locker room at the half with the Weevils trailing, 36-29.

East Central carried their momentum into the second 20-minute period, outscoring the Weevils 39-27. The Tigers increased their lead to a game-high 19 points; however, the Weevils cut the deficit to six points on three separate occasions. The effort proved not enough, as East Central stayed in control for the remainder of the game. UAM came out of the contest with a 75-56 loss to the Tigers.

Arkansas-Monticello committed 12 turnovers in the entirety of the match.
