MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team will travel to Clinton, Mississippi on Tuesday for a doubleheader against the Choctaws. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m., followed by a second game at 5:00 p.m.
LAST MEETING
The Blossoms lost the last doubleheader 3-5 game one and 3-7 game two. In the last game played, the Choctaws found the first two runs of the game in the top of the first off a single up the middle. Two innings later, a third run scored on a double to center field. The Blossoms saw themselves on the scoreboard in the bottom half of the third with three runs. An MC error brought

Maddie Moore sent a two-run long shot over the left field wall to score herself and Tippen in the fifth as the last two runs for the Blossoms. Mississippi College closed out the scoring with a single to center field that plated two in the seventh, taking game one 5-3. In game two, Mississippi College kicked off the scoring in the first with a solo home run from the lead-off batter. They plated four more runs between the second and fourth innings. A UAM error and a sacrifice fly in the second made it a 3-0 ball game. A two-run homer in the fourth extended the Choctaw lead to 5-0 over the Blossoms. Makenzie Martin added the second run for the Blossoms as she singled to the Choctaws catcher, plating
Lainey Tippen in the process. The Choctaws added two more runs to the board, one in the sixth off a single, and the final run in the seventh off a double.
Zoe Bridges homered over the left field wall to add UAM's final run to the board. Mississippi College took game two, 7-3.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Blossoms trail in the all-time series against Mississippi College 4-13, which dates back to the first meeting, a 9-1 loss, on March 22, 1996. Since that first match-up, the series has grown to 17 total games played between the two programs. The longest win streak in the series for UAM is three straight wins, all coming during the 1997 season. Currently, Mississippi College holds a ten-game winning streak after the most recent match-up this season on February 24, 2026, with a 7-3 win over UAM. At home in Monticello, the Blossoms hold a 4-9 record, while posting a 0-2 record on the road. The largest margin of victory in the series came on March 20, 1997, when UAM defeated Mississippi College 15-2. Across all 17 games played, the Blossoms have scored 64 total runs, averaging 3.76 runs per game in the series.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLOSSOMS
Arkansas-Monticello Softball close out its meeting with the Bulldogs of Southwesten Oklahoma State University. On Friday the Blossoms dropped both games of the double header, 6-0 and 3-2. The last game of the series came with a close 1-0 victory for the Blossoms.
