MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team hits the road Friday, March 27, and Saturday, March 28, to Searcy, Arkansas, for a three-game Great American Conference matchup with the Lady Bisons of Harding University. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Friday at 4:00 p.m., followed by the final game on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

LAST MEETING
The Blossoms fell to the Lady Bisons last season. The ladies in green and white fell in the doubleheader, 6-9, 0-7, before beating the Lady Rangers 5-4, in nine innings. Harding was the first on the board in game one, scoring two runs in the first on an RBI single up the middle. The Blossom offense exploded in the second, plating six runs to reclaim the lead. Lainey Tippen kicked off the rally with an RBI single to right field. A bases-loaded walk scored the second, followed by a two-RBI double off the wall in left to win a 13-pitch at-bat. Aubree Goodnight drove a ball to right field to bring in the sixth run. Throughout the remainder of the ball game, the Bisons would score three in the third and four in the fifth. The game would conclude with a 9-6 loss for UAM. Harding scored the first four runs of game two in the third, plating the first on a wild pitch, and runs two through four on a three-run home run to left field. The Lady Bisons increased their lead by three in the sixth, scoring the first on an RBI single and runs two and three on a pinch-hit home run to right field. UAM was unable to put a run on the board, resulting in a 7-0 loss. Harding was the first to score in game three, posting two runs in the second. The Lady Bisons increased their lead to 4-0 in the third, plating the first on a solo home run, followed by an RBI single. The Blossom offense rallied in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game with four runs. UAM saw three RBI doubles with Aubry O'Bryant driving in Lainey Tippen, Jadyn Hart bringing home O'Bryant, and Cada Collins scoring Hart. The fourth run came on an RBI single from Sophie Wood. Kammie Walker walked the game off in the bottom of the ninth with a home run off the foul pole in left field. The drive resulted in a 5-4 UAM victory. Kyann Woods took the rubber in the fourth, tossing 6.0 total innings of shutout pitching. She allowed only two hits and got the win.

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Blossoms trail the Lady Bisons, 15-26, in the all-time record, dating back to the first meeting in March of 2014, a 2-3 loss for the Blossoms. On the road in Searcy, the Blossoms are 8-12; in Monticello, they are 6-11. The largest margin of victory came in the form of an 8-0 decision in March of 2016. Through 41 meetings, the Blossoms have plated 153 runs, averaging 3.73 runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLOSSOMS
The Blossoms took the three-game series from Northwestern Oklahoma State University this past weekend, 2-1. UAM split the doubleheader, 4-3, 1-3,before besting the Rangers in the final game, 3-1.
