ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- The University of Arkansas at Monticello Baseball Team traveled to Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to open a Great American Conference series with Ouachita Baptist University on Thursday. The Boll Weevils came out of the series opener with a 6-5 loss in 12 innings.

Scoring Recap:
Elijah Olaybal kicked off the scoring in the series opener, driving in Camden Tanner on a single to center field in the third.

Ouachita Baptist scored two runs in the fourth, followed by a third run in the fifth.

UAM scored two runs in the sixth and two in the eighth. The sixth saw Daniel Lizarraga bring in Drew Floyd in a single through the four-hole, followed by an RBI single from Olaybal, making it a 3-3 game. Drew Floyd scored the go-ahead run in the eighth, taking advantage of a wild pitch. Olaybal drove in Camden Tanner for the fifth and final run of the game for Arkansas-Monticello.

The Tigers tied the game in the ninth, scoring on a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly. Ouachita Baptist walked the game off in the 12th, taking the series opener, 6-5.

Pitching Performances:
- Hunter Heath started on the mound, going 4.1 innings with 3 earned runs on 5 hits. He struck out a batter
- Aiden McGee saw 2.2 innings of work, allowing no runs on 1 hit with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts
- John White tossed 2.0 innings with 2 earned runs on 1 hit, walking 2 batters and striking out 1
- Alberto Oropeza threw the final 2.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits with 3 strikeouts

Offensive Showcase:
- Elijah Olaybal - 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and 2 walks
- Camden Tanner - 2-for-6 with 3 runs scored and 1 walk
- Drew Floyd - 2-for-6 with a triple and 2 runs scored
