MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Volleyball team continues GAC action this Thursday, September 17, and Friday, September 18, as they take on the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University and the Golden Suns of Arkansas Tech University. Thursday's matchup with the Tigers is set for a 6:00 p.m. serve inside Sturgis Physical Education Center, and the matchup with the Golden Suns on Friday is set for 4:00 p.m. inside the Steelman Field House.
All-TIME SERIES
Ouachita Baptist University - This will be the 43rd meeting between the Weevils and the Tigers. Ouachita holds a 33-10 advantage over UAM in the all-time series. The last meeting between the two teams came on November 6, 2025, in Arkadelphia, resulting in a 3-0 (15-25, 22-25, 16-25) loss for UAM. The Blossoms' last win over the Tigers came on September 6, 2022, at home in Steelman Field House, when UAM earned a 3-2 victory. At home, the Blossoms trail 7-15, while they hold a 3-17 record on the road and a 9-32 overall conference record against Ouachita.
Arkansas Tech University - This will be the 46th meeting between the Weevils and the Golden Suns. Arkansas Tech holds a 37-8 advantage over UAM in the all-time series. The last meeting between the two teams took place on November 4, 2025, in Monticello, resulting in a 3-0 (24-26, 17-25, 25-27) loss for UAM. The last win for the ladies in green and white came on November 6, 2023, at home in Steelman Field House, when the Weevils earned a 3-1 victory. At home, the Weevils trail 6-15, while they hold a 2-20 record on the road and an 8-34 overall conference record against Arkansas Tech.
LAST MEETING
Ouachita Baptist University - The opening set began with Ouachita Baptist outscoring the Weevils, 10-4. Arkansas-Monticello cut the deficit to just three, 14-11, but the Tigers wouldn't relinquish control, taking a six-point advantage, 20-14. Ouachita Baptist scored five points over the next six serves to win the first set, 25-15. Set two began evenly matched as the Weevils and Tigers battled for points, tying the set 7-7. Ouachita Baptist gained a four-point advantage over Arkansas-Monticello, however, the Weevils would not back down, retying the set 18-18. UAM came up just short as Ouachita Baptist remained on top, taking the second set, 25-22. The third and final set looked to be a repeat of the second, when Arkansas-Monticello and Ouachita Baptist exchanged points back-and-forth, bringing the set to 14-10 in favor of the Tigers. OUA pulled ahead with six more points to push them into a 20-13 advantage. The Tigers would take set three, 25-16, and the match win over the Weevils.
Arkansas Tech University - The opening set began evenly match as Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas Tech exchanged points back-and-forth, bringing the set to 9-7 in favor of the Golden Suns. ATU's offense pulled ahead, extending their lead to 16-11, however, the Blossoms quickly responded with a 4-0 and 5-0 rally of their own to reclaim the lead, 21-19. After more points were exchanged, the Golden Suns remained on top, taking the first set, 26-24. The second set looked to be similar to the first, with Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas Tech exchanging points, tying the set 10-10. The Blossom's momentum faltered as the Golden Suns pulled ahead, extending their lead to 18-12. UAM managed to cut the deficit to four points, but the Golden Suns rallied to take the second set, 25-17, and lead the series, 2-0. Arkansas-Monticello saw themselves down early in the third and final set, 6-1, however, a 4-0 rally helped the Blossoms to tie the set, 9-9. The Blossoms and Golden Suns vied over possession of leadership for the remainder of the set, exchanging points back-and-forth, bringing the set to 25-25. Arkansas Tech remained victorious, taking the final set, 27-25, and the match, 3-0.
