MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team is set to open the 2026 season at home against Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The campaign will mark the 113th season of football at UAM.
Coming off a 44-13 loss at home to school rival Southern Arkansas in the 100th annual Battle of the Timberlands to conclude the 2025 season, the Weevils are hungry for a fresh start and new beginnings as they look towards the opener with the Savage Storm. The 2026 season will be the 1st under Head Coach
Gary Goff.
"I am excited for the start of the season and looking forward to seeing the team compete," said Coach Goff.
"Southeastern Oklahoma State will be a great test for us. They are a very well-coached team that returns several key players."

THE MATCHUP
The University of Arkansas at Monticello Football team hosts Southeastern Oklahoma State University this afternoon at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium for the 2026 season opener, sponsored by Union Bank.
LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Monticello lost to Southeastern Oklahoma State during the 2025 season, falling 13-44 on the road. The Boll Weevils tabbed 281 yards of total offense, recording two touchdowns in that contest.
Tavion Faulk led the air attack, connecting with 13-19 attempts for 155 yards and one touchdown.
Glen Cage led the team on the ground, rushing for a net of 17 yards in the contest, with a long of 11 yards.
All-TIME SERIES
UAM trails in the all-time series, 4-11, with nine of the last ten match-ups between the two resulting in a loss for Monticello. The Boll Weevils are 2-5 at home against Southeastern, with the last win in Monticello coming in 2019 on a close 9-7 victory. The largest margin of victory for the Weevils came during the 1979 season with a 41-7 win. The Weevils average 21.47 points against the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State.
PRESEASON NOTE
The Boll Weevils will open the 2026 season at Home against the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State University in week one. Monticello finished 12th in the GAC in scoring and 10th in total offense, averaging 13.3 points per contest and 3,318 yards of offense on the season. The Boll Weevils landed 11th in the conference in rushing, posting 1,081 total rushing yards on the year. Defensively, UAM ranked 10th in total defense, surrendering 425.4 yards per contest, and 11th in scoring defense, allowing 38.0 points per game. Offensively, running back
Jaylen Sulton led the running game, averaging 31.9 yards a contest.
Chasden Collins and
Ahmari Cox are the top targets in the receiving game for UAM, with Collins totaling 439 yards on 27 receptions and Cox totaling 335 yards on 23 receptions.

Authorized UAM personnel and standby medical staff are the only ones with on-field access during the Weevil Football games. All other unauthorized personnel are required to stay within the stands. The following are prohibited at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium:

Restrooms for all fans are on the opposite side of the UAM Indoor Practice Facility from the field. There are also portable bathrooms behind the UAM student section on the south side of the home stands.
