Arkansas-Monticello's Head Mens Basketball Coach Chad Tapp announced the hiring of Aidan Dawson as the newest member of the Weevils coaching staff in August of 2024.
Dawson joins the Weevils, after spending the last two years as the Scouting, Video and Analytics Assistant Coordinator for the University of North Texas Men's Basketball team. During the Spring and Summer of 2024, Coach Dawson worked for NXTPRO SPORTS as a Pro16 League Scout, where he wrote scouting based articles on the top players for each team and provided media coverage to top teams in the Southwest region of the Puma Circuit.
Coach Dawson received his Bachelor’s in Converged Media and Broadcasting from the University of North Texas in 2024. While working with the North Texas Mean Green's, Dawson helped the team to the 2023 National Invitation Tournament where UNT defeated UAB 68-61.Â
The Plano, Texas native is the son of Lara and Chris Dawson, brother to Anna, boyfriend of Alexia Cobb, and dog dad to Shiatzi.
