Nick Woodruff

Nick Woodruff began his coaching career as a graduate assistant men’s basketball coach at UAM in the summer of 2009 and was promoted to the program’s first-ever full-time assistant coach in the summer of 2012.

The Oxford, Ohio native is the primary assistant coach for the men’s basketball team and assists in aspects of the program, including player development, game preparation, strength and conditioning, video coordination and student-athlete academic development.

While at UAM, Woodruff has been a part of four straight conference championship tournament appearances, recruited and coached Great American Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year Kori Forge (2012-13), helped lead UAM to its eighth 20-win season in program history (21-9, 2011-12), coached five first-team all-conference players, two second team all-conference players and helped UAM beat undefeated No. 1 Arkansas Tech in 2010.

Woodruff came to UAM after four years of playing experience at Muskingum College, a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference and the NCAA Division III. He also has experience in the business world of athletics having worked for the Big Ten Network in the summer of 2008. While at Muskingum, he also worked in the athletics department as an intramural supervisor.

Prior to Muskingum, Woodruff lettered four years at Talawanda High School in Oxford, Ohio.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Muskingum University in 2009 and followed up with a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2011.

Woodruff and his wife, Kristen, were married in June of 2012. Kristen works at UAM as the training coordinator for the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Center.
