UAM FINISHES 5TH AT CBC SPRING INVITATIONAL

MAUMELLE, Ark. -- The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's golf team finished fifth out of 12 teams at the Mustang Invitational played the Country Club of Arkansas on March 25-26.

UAM totaled a two-round team total of 654, just three strokes behind fourth place finisher Southwestern Christian. Seminole State Community College won the event with a team total of 623, followed by Central Baptist in second at 636 and Christian Brothers in third at 648.

Theodor Karlsson was the top individual finisher for UAM with a two-round total of 158, including the lowest first round score of the field with a 73. Karlsson finished in a three-way tie for seventh place out of 73 participants.

Ari Magnusson finished in a tie for 13th place with a total score of 161. Brooks Aschraft tied for 20th with a 165, William Trawick tied for 41st at 170, Matt Crawley tied for 59th at 181 and Frank Porto finished 64th at 187.

Central Baptist's Justin Burns was the top individual finisher with a score of 74 in each round for a total of 148, two strokes ahead of runner up Tyler Carlson of Seminole State.
