MONTICELLO –
The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team concluded its five-match home stand with a 3-1 loss to Southern Arkansas on Tuesday night inside Steelman Field House.

With the loss, UAM snaps its four-match winning streak and falls to 13-12 overall and 5-7 in Great American Conference matches. SAU improves to 12-17 overall and 6-7 in the GAC. Final game scores were 14-25, 26-24, 17-25 and 15-25.

The Lady Muleriders stayed above .300 in team hitting percentage throughout the match, while holding UAM to three sets at less than .100. The Blossoms rallied for a .324 percentage in the second set with 14 kills and only two errors to win a close back-and-forth battle that featured 12 tie scores and four lead changes.

Overall as a team, UAM hit .114 with 37 kills and 22 errors on 132 swings, while SAU totaled 63 kills and 17 errors on 134 swings for a final mark of .343.

Junior Sydni Schulz led the Blossoms with nine kills, while adding seven digs. Freshman Aubrey Harrison added eight kills and two total blocks. Junior Kaila Kikugawa totaled 21 assists, and junior Lani Kaiwi led the team with 14 digs.

SAU's Amanda Monge led both teams with 21 kills. Hailey McNee added 12 kills for the Lady Muleriders.

The Blossoms are back in action on Saturday on the road against Southern Nazarene. First serve is set for 11 a.m. in Bethany, Oklahoma.
