SAN ANGELO, Texas –
Angelo State shot right at 60 percent from the field to defeat the University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team on Saturday by a final score of 113-74.

Saturday's game marked the final contest for the Weevils (3-5) for the 2014 calendar year. The Rams improved to 11-1 heading into the holiday break.

Angelo State outscored UAM 53-34 in the first half and 60-40 in the second half. The Rams lead for just over 38 minutes of the game.

UAM finished the game shooting 33 percent from the field (24-for-73), 23 percent on three-pointers (5-for-22) and 72 percent on foul shots (21-for-29). The Rams finished at 60 percent from the field (41-for-69), 48 percent on three-pointers (10-for-21) and 66 percent on foul shots (21-for-32).

Senior D'Audrio Patton led UAM with a season-high 20 points on an 8-for-14 shooting performance and a 4-for-7 outing at the foul line. Junior Jamal Peterson followed with 16 points, while junior Richard Benedyth chipped in with 14. Angelo held UAM's leading scorer, Sharif Hudson to eight points following a 3-for-12 outing from the field.

The Rams placed six scorers in double-figures, led by Marsell Holden's game-high 23 points. Angelo had 44 points come from reserves.

The Weevils are back in action following the holiday break on Saturday, January 3 at Arkansas Tech.
