WEEVILS FINISH OFF SNU FOR 4TH STRAIGHT SWEEP

BETHANY, Okla. –
Sophomore Mitchell Dornblut capped a 10-run fourth inning with a grand slam homerun to help the University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team capture a 13-6 win over Southern Nazarene on Saturday for the team's fourth consecutive Great American Conference series sweep.

Also in the 10-run fourth, senior Ben Agredano and junior Austin Braddock delivered two-run singles, senior Tyler Caruthers had an RBI single and senior D'Marco Poindexter drew a bases-loaded walk. UAM first reached the scoreboard in the third on an RBI double by senior Ray Johnson.

The Weevils (31-11, 20-7 GAC) added their final two runs on an RBI fielder's choice from Braddock in the fifth and off an SNU error in the sixth.

Southern Nazarene (15-26, 4-23 GAC) reached the scoreboard first with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second and added two runs more in each of the sixth and ninth innings.

Senior Kade Garlington (9-2) earned the win after allowing four runs (three earned) off 11 hits with six strikeouts and two walks in the first 7.1 innings.

With the win over SNU on Saturday, the Weevils were the first team to reach 20 conference wins this season in the GAC.

UAM is back in action this upcoming Tuesday, April 15 at home against Delta State. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Weevils Field.
