@UAMWBB HITS SETBACK AGAINST NON-CONFERENCE LINDENWOOD

MONTICELLO— The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team fell against non-conference opponent Lindenwood University at home by a final score of 80-57.

Arkansas-Monticello (3-4, 1-3 GAC) contested the Lions of Lindenwood University (4-3, 0-0 MIAA) throughout the opening half, only trailing LWU by one point at 31-30 by the end of the first half. The second half was a different story as the Lions dominated gameplay and went on to outscore the Blossoms, 49-27 to claim the victory at 80-57 by the final buzzer. 

Final team statistics in this match-up for UAM included shooting 37 percent from the field (22-for-59), 13 percent on three-pointers (2-for-15) and 61 percent on free throws (11-for-18). The Lions ended the game at 53 percent from the field (30-for-57), 18 percent on three's (2-for-11) and 69 percent on foul shots (18-for-26).

UAM was led by junior Treasure Evans offensively, who totaled 12 points in the contest on 5-for-12 shooting. Also in double-figures in the contest was senior Nelsha Peterson with 10 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field. Evans also recorded two steals and one block in the match-up as well.

Junior Brittnee Broadway posted a quality overall stat-line as she finished the day with seven total points, four assists, three rebounds, two blocks and two steals.

The Blossoms will return to the court next on Saturday, December 10 as UAM will square of against non-conference opponent Lane College inside Steelman Field House with tip-off set for 2 p.m.
