ADA, Oklahoma — The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team split its final regular season road double-header on Saturday, beating East Central 4-2 in the first game and losing 3-2 in nine innings in the series finale.
The Blossoms (28-24, 22-18 GAC) started the day by taking an early lead in the first game, plating three runs in the top of the second inning on a two-run single from junior Korie Parker and an RBI single from senior Holly Wilmarth.

Sophomore Alyson Finnigan earned her fourth save of the season after coming in with two runners on base in the sixth inning and holding the Tigers scoreless throughout the remainder of the contest.
In the second game, UAM's only scoring came on a two-run home run by Wilmarth in the top of the fifth inning. At the time, that gave the Blossoms a 2-1 lead.
The Tigers came back to force a 2-all tie with one run off two hits and a walk in the bottom of the sixth inning. UAM was retired in order in the sixth and seventh innings to force extra innings.
ECU's Lacey Paulk provided the game-winning blow with a solo home run to lead off the ninth inning.
