OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's golf team opened the 2016-17 season at the Great American Conference Preview played at the Lake Hefner Golf Course in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma this past Monday and Tuesday. 

Sophomore Kinley Lee led the Weevils as he tied for fourth place overall shooting four under par throughout the tournament with a final score of 212 (71-70-71).

Freshman Joseph Lemieux finished tied for seventh overall posting a score of 216 (73-75-68). Fellow freshman Wilson Powell followed with a tie for 12th place shooting 219 (77-68-74). 

Senior Bryan Witmer placed in a tie for 20th after day two with a score of 224 (76-74-74) and junior Tyler Thackerson finished in a tie for 24th place as he shot a 230 (77-75-78).

Southern Nazarene was the top team at the event with a three-round total of 860, followed by Oklahoma Baptist at 866, and Southern Arkansas at 867. 

The Weevils are back in action on Monday and Tuesday, September 19-20 at the Northeastern State Men's Golf Classic in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
