Magnolia, Ark. -  The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team was taken down by GAC rival Southern Arkansas on the road Thursday evening by a final score of 3-1.

• Final set scores from the match were 26-28, 25-22, 18-25, and 21-25 in favor of the Muleriders. 
• The Blossoms drop to 10-16 (2-10 GAC) overall this year.
• SAU improves to 8-19 (1-11 GAC) on the season. 

• The opening set saw a back-and-forth battle between UAM and SAU, as the Blossoms generated a 4-0 run late in the match-up, with the Muleriders leading 18-17.
• The Blossoms found themselves down 24-19, and went on a 6-0 run after kills from Kassidy Pomeroy, and Aubrey Harrison gave UAM the 25-24 lead.
• However the Muleriders ultimately recorded the next four-of-five points to take the first set over Arkansas-Monticello, 28-26. 
  
   

  

• UAM continued to generate a strong offensive attack in the following set, as kills from Maggie Pyles, and Harrison gave the Blossoms an 18-14 lead late in the set. 
• Arkansas-Monticello was able to close out the set victory over SAU, 25-22, after a kill by Harrison to tie up the match at 1-1. 
   

• These two rivals began the third set of play locked in another close battle, but SAU found a way to create a 6-0 run and jump out to a 17-10 lead.
• Despite some offensive fire power from Vanessa Pawlak, Pyles, and Harrison, the Muleriders were able to take the set at 25-18, and a 2-1 match lead. 
   

• The final set of this contest saw Southern Arkansas control most of the game tempo, and although UAM managed to tie up the set twice, could not complete the comeback as SAU took set four 25-21, and the match at 3-1 overall. 
  
   

• Senior Aubrey Harrison totaled a career-high 20 kills in the match-up tonight, on 39 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage.
• Maggie Pyles finished in double-digit kills with 16 overall on the night as well.
• Toryn Cox also recorded a career-high in assists with 57 total against SAU in the contest. 
• Macy Mitchell continued to anchor the defensive effort with 25 digs in the match also. 
  
   

• Arkansas-Monticello will return to the court next on Saturday, October 28 as the Blossoms will face non-conference opponent Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas with first serve set for 5:00 p.m.
