MONTICELLO - The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team was taken down by #10 ranked Arkansas Tech Tuesday evening inside Steelman Field House, by a final score of 3-0.

• Final set scores from the match were 17-25, 21-25, and 20-25 in favor of the Golden Suns. 
• Arkansas-Monticello drops to 10-18 (2-11 GAC) on the year.
• Arkansas Tech remains undefeated this season at 29-0 (13-0 GAC). 

• The Golden Suns jumped out in front to begin this match-up as ATU held a 5-1 lead over UAM in the opening set. 
• Arkansas Tech managed to generate small runs throughout the first set, never trailing UAM, as ATU won it 25-17 to gain the early advantage. 
  
   

  

• The Blossoms and the Golden Suns went back-and-forth during set number two, with UAM trailing 12-10 after kills by Laurene Cushinberry and Maggie Pyles helped close the gap.
• ATU however created an 8-2 run to build a comfortable lead over UAM, and despite a 6-1 run from Arkansas-Monticello, Tech claimed set two 25-21.
   

• In what would be the final set of this GAC match-up, UAM held a lead late in the set at 19-18 after consecutive kills from Brittany Hamilton and Pyles gave the Blossoms the one point edge. Arkansas Tech unfortunately sealed the match on a 7-1 run to take set three at 25-20 and win the match at 3-0.
  
  
   

• Maggie Pyles recorded a match-high 13 kills this evening, and totaled a hitting percentage of .233 as well. 
• Aubrey Harrison complied a solid stat sheet with nine total kills, two solo blocks, and four block assists in the match-up.
• Toryn Cox finished the match with a team-high 28 assists. 
• Macy Mitchell added a team-high 15 digs also.
  
   

• UAM will hit the court next this Thursday, November 2 as the Blossoms take on both Ouachita Baptist and Grambling State in a Tri-Match inside Steelman Field House. Arkansas-Monticello will face the OBU Tigers at 3:00 p.m. and then take on Grambling State later that night at 7:00 p.m.
