University of Arkansas at Monticello Athletics

St. Charles, Mo. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team was defeated on day two of the MIAA/GAC Challenge by the Lindenwood Lions by a final score of 64-40. 

 

• The Blossoms drop to 1-1 (0-0 GAC) this season.
• Lindenwood improves to 2-0 (0-0 MIAA) on the year.
  
   

• Charlynn Perry:  12 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block
• Nina Kizzee:  7 points, 1 rebound
• Brittnee Broadway:  6 points, 3 rebounds
• Chari Swift:  6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals
  
   

• Lindenwood controlled the opening quarter of play as the Lions took a 16-4 lead over UAM to start the contest.
  
   

• LU continued to extend its lead during the second quarter after a 6-0 run pushed the Lions' advantage further over the Blossoms to 30-15 at the half.  
  
   

• Nina Kizzee and Charlynn Perry provided the offense for UAM to start the second half, however the Lions continued to pull away and led 49-23 at the period's end. 
   

• Lindenwood paced the final quarter of play over Arkansas-Monticello, and ultimately handed the Blossoms' their first loss of 2017, by a final score of 64-40. 
  
   

• The Blossoms will hit the court next on Thursday, November 16 as UAM will travel to Shawnee, Oklahoma to face Oklahoma Baptist to open GAC play at 5:30 p.m.
