Memphis, Tenn. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team took down non-conference opponent Christian Brothers University Tuesday evening on the road by a final score of 42-40.

  • The Blossoms jumped out to an 11-2 after a three-pointer from Taylor Collins surged UAM ahead over the Bucs on the road. 
  • Collins continued her hot streak to close out the first quarter with a made jumper to hold a 13-8 lead over CBU. 
  • Christian Brothers claimed a lead with just over five minutes over Arkansas-Monticello at 15-14. 
  • UAM ultimately battled back late in the second quarter with a fast break layup to cap off the scoring by Idalis Rubalcava to put the Blossoms ahead at 26-17.

  • Arkansas-Monticello continued to pace the game over the Bucs in the third quarter of this match-up, holding a 34-28 advantage by the quarter's end. 
  • CBU started to generate multiple small runs in the fourth quarter, as the Bucs tied up the game with just :20 seconds remaining in the contest.
  • UAM however held strong, as Charlynn Perry knocked down two free throws to give the Blossoms the 42-40 lead, and was able to win it by the final buzzer.

  • The Blossoms will next hit the court on Saturday, November 25, as UAM will face Paul Quinn College in the 2017-18 home opener inside Steelman Field House with tip-off slated for 4:00 p.m.
