MONTICELLO - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team was downed at home by Ouachita Baptist in a Great American Conference match-up inside Steelman Field House by a final score of 76-74.

UAM (11-13, 8-12 GAC) was locked in an intense battle against the Tigers of Ouachita (12-14, 9-11 GAC) throughout the opening half as OBU led UAM 37-34 heading into the break. The second half only saw each team contend for any advantage as this game saw six total lead changes, and eight overall ties.

The final minutes of this match-up had each team going back-and-forth in scoring, with Arkansas-Monticello once again reclaiming the lead with just over a minute left in the game after a Braxton Chumley three-pointer put the score in favor of UAM at 74-73.

The match-up ultimately came to an end with Ouachita hitting a lay-up with just 00:25 seconds left on the clock and UAM could not sink another shot to takeover the lead once again, as the Tigers sealed the win on a free throw at 76-74.

Arkansas-Monticello was led on offense by senior Nelsha Peterson with 21 total points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field, and went 9-of-9 from the free throw line as well. Peterson recorded five rebounds and five assists in the match-up also.

Three other Blossoms finished the afternoon in double-figures which included Brittnee Broadway with 12 points, Ayesha Wahid at 11, and Treasure Evans finished with 10 points. Evans recorded her third double-double on the year also after pulling down a game-high 13 boards in the contest.

Final team statistics for the Blossoms included shooting 43 percent (26-for-61) from the field, 36 percent (4-for-11) on three-pointers, and 90 percent (18-for-20) on foul shots. Ouachita finished the game shooting 55 percent (29-for-53) overall, 56 percent on three's (9-for-16), and 43 percent (9-for-21) from the free throw line.
