WEATHERFORD, Okla. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team split a Great American Conference doubleheader against Southwestern Oklahoma State on the road Saturday, taking game one 11-5, and falling in game two, 8-1.
Game one for Arkansas-Monticello (17-11, 13-5 GAC) saw the Weevils in a back-and-forth offensive battle against the hosting Bulldogs of Southwestern (10-17, 6-10 GAC), as each team trading leads early throughout this first contest.
The Bulldogs were on the board first leading 2-0, until UAM took the lead in the top of the third with a Brady Weiss three-run home-run to right center, giving the Weevils the slight advantage at 3-2.
