@WEEVILSBASEBALL PREPARES FOR ATU IN LAST HOME STAND OF SEASON

MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team will take on Great American Conference adversary Arkansas Tech in a three-game series this weekend on Friday, and Saturday.

The Weevils will also be honoring its senior class on Saturday, April 15 prior to the start of the game against the Wonder Boys.

WEEK IN REVIEW 
The Weevils (23-12, 18-6 GAC) are coming off a three game sweep of GAC member Ouachita last weekend at Weevils Field which saw UAM move just one game behind Arkansas Tech in the overall GAC standings. Arkansas-Monticello is currently third while the Wonder Boys are in second behind conference leading Southern Arkansas.

SCOUTING ARKANSAS TECH
ATU comes into the weekend after posting a 3-1 overall record with a series win over Southeastern Oklahoma at home, and the Wonder Boys picked up a non-conference win over Lyon earlier this week as well. Leading the offensive unit of Arkansas Tech has been Dylan McDearmon with a .366 overall batting average. Marcus Wilson (.316) and Zach Klockowski (.314) are each batthing over .300 as well on the year. Klockowski is the team leader in runs batted in (35), home runs (8), and slugging percentage (.584) also. On the mound for ATU, they are anchored by Kyle Wilson and Geoffrey Birkemeier who each have record five wins this season. Wilson is the program leader in both earned run average (3.05) and in strikeouts (60).
