WITMER LEADS @UAMGOLF MEN AT NATURAL STATE CLASSIC

HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. — 
The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place overall at the Natural State Classic Tuesday afternoon, played at the Red Apple Inn and Country Club. 

Senior Bryan Witmer anchored the UAM squad with a two-round score of 142 (71, 71) and placed in a tie for second overall in the classic. 

Freshman Joe Lemieux (75, 74) recorded a 149 total score in the tournament and finished in a tie for 25th place as well. 

Freshman Stephane Perrin (78, 72) turned in a combined score of 150 just behind Lemieux to finish in a tie for 27th, with fellow freshmen Jeffery Witson (77, 76), and Wilson Powell (79, 75) closed behind with combined scores of 153 and 154 respectively. 

Arkansas Tech was the top team in the event out of the 12 total participants, with a two-round score of 576, followed by host school Harding University in second at 579, and finally Henderson State in third with a 583 total. 

The Weevils will compete next in the Great American Conference Championships beginning Sunday, April 23 in Hot Springs, Arkansas and will be played at the Hot Springs Country Club.
