Memphis, Tenn. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team split day one of the Christian Brothers Invitational Friday afternoon by first defeating Assumption College 3-0, and later falling to Tiffin University 3-1.

• Final game scores from the match were 26-24, 25-22, and 25-19 in favor of UAM. 
• Arkansas-Monticello improved its overall record to 2-0.
• Assumption College fell to 0-2 overall.

• The Blossoms swept the opening match-up against the Greyhounds after hitting .190 overall as a team on 42 total kills in 137 total attempts.
• Shayna Daniels tallied 14 kills in the contest, with 13 digs, and 10 assists to lead Arkansas-Monticello
• Maggie Pyles added 13 kills of her own, posted a .367 hitting percentage, and led the Blossoms in digs with 19 overall. 
• Freshman Toryn Cox led both sides with 24 assists, and contributed 11 digs.

• Final game scores from the match were 25-21, 21-25, 14-25, and 13-25 in favor of the Dragons of Tiffin. 
• Arkansas-Monticello dropped its first match of the 2017 season to fall to 2-1 overall.
• Tiffin University recorded its first win of 2017 to post a 1-1 record. 

• Tiffin totaled 10 total blocks in the match, compared to the Blossoms' three.
• Junior Shayna Daniels tallied nine kills, with 11 assists and 10 digs. This was Daniels' third straight match with 10 or more assists.
• Toryn Cox also recorded 16 assists in the contest which was her third straight match with 10 or more assists as well. 
• Senior Macy Mitchell added 19 digs to her stat line, making this her third straight contest with 15 or more digs in a match. 

• The Blossoms will compete in day two of the Christian Brothers Invitational as UAM takes on host program CBU to begin the day at 9 a.m. and will wrap up the invite against Newman University with first serve scheduled for 2 p.m.
