Memphis, Tenn. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team was defeated twice on the second day of the Christian Brothers Invitational Saturday as UAM fell to Christian Brothers and Newman.

• Final game scores from the match were 25-17, 25-16, and 25-15 in favor of CBU. 
• Arkansas-Monticello fell to 2-2 overall on the year.
• Christian Brothers improved its record to 3-0 overall.

• UAM finished the contest hitting .167 overall as a team, compared to the Buccaneers who posted a .327 overall hitting percentage
• Laurene Chushinberry and Shayna Daniels each posted six kills for the Blossoms offense.
• Toryn Cox also recorded 15 assists in the contest which was her fourth straight match with 10 or more assists as well. 
• Macy Mitchell added 19 digs to her stat line, making this her fourth straight match with 15 or more digs in a contest.

• The Jets totaled 11 services in this match-up, compared to the two overall of UAM. 
• Maggie Pyles led the Arkansas-Monticello offensive unit with eight overall kills, and a hitting percentage of .304.
• Toryn Cox tallied 12 assists in the contest which was her fifth straight match with 10 or more assists.
   

• The Blossoms will return to the court next on Tuesday, September 5, as UAM will host a tri-match and face Crowleys Ridge College and Mississippi Valley State each inside Steelman Fieldhouse in Monticello, Ark. with match times at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
