@UAMHOOPS DOMINATES ATU IN HOME VICTORY

MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team defeated the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech at home Thursday night, by a final score of 94-72.

  • ATU falls to 11-5 (5-5 GAC) on the season.
  • Tyrin Jones recorded a career-high 29 points.
  • Derylton Hill and Cobe Goosby each tallied double-doubles in this contest, the second straight game each has recorded a double-double.

  • The Wonder Boys began this match-up with a fast-break layup to take the early 2-0 lead, however UAM fired back, after a made jumper from Jones, the Weevils would not trail in this game for the remainder of the contest. 
  • Generating multiple runs throughout the opening period, Arkansas-Monticello found itself on top at the half, leading 44-34, capped off by a Keelin Jackson made three-pointer with under a minute remaining.  
  • The Weevils shot 52 percent overall from the floor to start this match-up, compared to ATU who finished the first half shooting just 33 percent.
