MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team was defeated Thursday night by the #16 ranked Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene, 73-63. 

 

• The Weevils fall to 11-7 (6-6 GAC) this season.
• SNU improves to 15-1 (12-0 GAC) on the year. 
   
• Derylton Hill recorded his fifth double-double of the year with 24 points, and 10 rebounds. 
  
   

• Derylton Hill —  24 points, 10 rebounds
• Keelin Jackson — 10 points, 3 rebounds
• Karim Mawuenyega — 8 points, 7 assists
  
   

• The Crimson Storm controlled much of the pace of the opening half, holding a lead over UAM for over 17 total minutes, and heading into the break, up 43-36. 
• Hill continued his hot streak of late with 13 first half points, along with three rebounds, and one block. Jackson added eight points of his own, and one steal. 
  
   

• The Weevils began to stage its' comeback early in the second half after a fast break layup from Hill tied up the ballgame at 48-48 overall.
• Arkansas-Monticello captured the lead with 12:57 left to play after a Jamil Maddred made layup on the very next home possession.
• Southern Nazarene unfortunately reclaimed the lead with just under four minutes remaining on a three-pointer, and was able to hold on for the 73-63 victory over UAM.
  
   

• The Weevils will take on Oklahoma Baptist next, this Saturday, January 27 at home in Steelman Field House with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
