@UAMWBB TRIPPED UP BY OKLAHOMA BAPTIST AT HOME

MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team was defeated at home Saturday afternoon by GAC opponent Oklahoma Baptist, 84-68.

  • UAM drops to 7-11 (3-10 GAC) this year.
  • OBU improves to 11-8 (6-7 GAC) on the season. 
     
  • Idalis Rubalcava recorded her first career double-double in a UAM uniform with 17 points, and 12 rebounds.

  • The Blossoms and the Bison were in a closely contested battle to begin this GAC match-up, after a made Taylor Collins three-pointer tied the game up at 7-7 in the first quarter. 
  • OBU quickly gained momentum however, taking a 28-18 lead heading into the second quarter of play. The Bison continued to pace quarter number two as well, ultimately holding a 51-33 advantage at the half. 
  • Oklahoma Baptist built its' lead on the hot shooting of the Bison, totaling 69 percent from the field, compared to UAM shooting 35 percent overall in the half.

  • The Bison continued to hold a double digit lead in the third, and fourth quarters of play, claiming the victory over UAM at 84-68. 
  • Rubalcava went on to have a big second half, with 13 total points, and eight rebounds. 
  • The Blossoms improved their shooting in the second half, totaling 52 percent overall from the floor.
