@UAMWBB LATE COMEBACK NOT ENOUGH AGAINST ECU

ADA, Okla. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team was taken down by the Tigers of East Central on the road Thursday evening, 73-69.

  • The Blossoms fall to 7-12 (3-11 GAC) on the season. 
  • ECU jumps to 7-11 (6-8 GAC) overall.
     
  • Senior Brittnee Broadway recorded a career-high 29 points (11-for-19) in the match-up tonight.

  • This match-up featured each program battling early until a made three-pointer from ECU saw the Tigers take control of the lead for the remainder of the quarter at 22-13. 
  • East Central continued to pace the second quarter, leading the Blossoms throughout its' entirety, with a halftime advantage of 33-28. 
  • Broadway led UAM in the opening half with 12 total points on 6-for-11 shooting, with four rebounds as well.

  • Arkansas-Monticello kick-started its' comeback to open the third quarter with a 10-2 run after a Briana Hayles three-pointer to put the Blossoms up 38-37.
  • ECU quickly regained the lead however, and went on to extend that advantage out to 53-42 by the period's end. 
  • Despite cutting into the deficit throughout the fourth quarter, the Tigers were able to hold the lead for the entire period and take the victory at 73-69.

  • The Blossoms will return to action next on Saturday, February 3 to face the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant, Oklahoma with tip-off set for 1:00 p.m.
