ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team dropped a GAC match-up on the road against Henderson State Thursday evening, by a final score of 80-65. 
 

• UAM falls to 7-16, (3-15 GAC) overall. 
• HSU jumps to 18-6, (14-4 GAC) this season.
  
   

• Taylor Collins — 19 points, 2 steals
• Mackenzie Johnson — 19 points, 8 rebounds
• Chari Swift — 12 points, 6 rebounds
   

• Henderson State surged ahead early in this match-up, taking an 18-8 lead over UAM late in the first period, and ultimately held the 18-12 advantage heading into the second quarter. 
• Arkansas-Monticello cut the HSU lead down to just two points after made free throws by Briana Hayles aided in the Blossom scoring effort. 
• The Reddies took a 31-27 lead heading into the break over UAM, after shooting 41 percent overall as a team, compared to that of Arkansas-Monticello, shooting 37 percent during the opening half.
   

• The Blossoms closely contested the Reddies throughout the majority of the third quarter, however HSU began to pull away late after a made three-pointer with just seconds remaining to take the 54-42 lead. 
• Henderson paced the fourth and final quarter of play, holding a double digit advantage through most of the period to ultimately defeat UAM, 80-65. 
• Despite shooting 50 overall as a team in the second half, the Blossoms could not cut into the deficit enough to pull off the comeback over HSU. 
  
   

• UAM will return to action next on Saturday, February 17 at home in Monticello to face the Ouachita Baptist Tigers inside Steelman Field House. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., and this contest will also be senior day for the Blossoms as well.
