@WEEVILSBASEBALL DOWNS ECU TO OPEN GAC PLAY

MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team took down East Central Sunday afternoon to begin GAC play this season at home, 10-5.

  • ECU falls to 1-7 (0-1 GAC) on the year.

  • 4th Inning: Andres Rios singled through the left side of the field to score Wagner, putting UAM on the board at 4-1. 
  • 4th Inning: Jordan Johnson singled to left field as well to bring home Borman, cutting the ECU lead down to just 4-2.
  • 6th Inning: Rowton homered to left field, putting Arkansas-Monticello within one run of the Tigers. 
  • 7th Inning: Wagner singled to left which scored two runs, giving UAM the advantage at 6-5. 
  • 7th Inning: Johnson was able to reach base on an error, to see Sean Wagner cross the plate. 
  • 8th Inning: Brian Ray hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring home Brakebill, extending the Weevil lead out to 8-5. 
  • 8th Inning: Wagner singled once again, this time to center field for the RBI hit, putting UAM up 9-5 overall.   
  • 8th Inning: Borman sealed off the game with a double to left center field to bring home Wagner for the 10-5 victory.

  • UAM will continue the series with East Central tomorrow, Monday, February 19 at Weevils Field with a double-header, and game one will be set to start at 11:00 a.m.
