DURANT, Okla. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team was taken down by Southeastern Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon by a final score of 68-61.

 

• UAM drops to 13-8 (8-7 GAC) overall.
• SOSU jumps to 11-9 (10-5 GAC) this season. 
  
   

• Derylton Hill — 17 points, 5 rebounds
• Karim Mawuenyega —  14 points, 4 rebounds
• Cobe Goosby— 11 points, 8 rebounds
  
   

• The opening half of this match-up featured a defensive battle as the game was all tied up at 15-15 with just over eight minutes left to play. 
• SOSU was able to surge ahead late in the period to lead UAM 28-25 heading into the locker room at the half. 
• Arkansas-Monticello finished the half shooting 33 percent from the floor, compared to that of Southeastern who shot 46 percent overall. 
  
   

• The Weevils took a three point lead at 47-44 midway through the second half of play after a Tyrin Jones made jumper.
• The Savage Storm however tied up the game at 47-47 on its' next possession with a converted and-one layup, and SOSU would then create a 10-0 run to gain control of the momentum. 
• UAM could not recover late in the second half and Southeastern ultimately claimed the victory at 68-61 in Durant. 
• Hill and Mawuenyega each posted double digit scoring in the second half with 13 and 11 points respectively. 
  
   

• UAM will next take on the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday, February 8 in Monticello with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m.
