Golf In Buccaneer Spring Classic

Weevil Women's and Men's Golf:

March 11th & 12th
Weevils Golf Team was over in Southaven, Mississippi Monday and Tuesday in both of their second tournament of the spring. The tournament is hosted by Christian Brothers University at the North Creek Golf Course.

"This was our best tournament of the year with the Women shooting 334-337. Leah Rowe shot our first round of the year in the 70s with a second round 78. Leah 83-78 finished in 14th place. Belle Tan shot consistent 82s to finish 16th. Skylar Mast 84-82 for her best tournament of the year as well finishing 18th. Maddie Mattocks 85-95 to place 30th. This is the type of effort we are capable of even playing with four golfers. Hopefully we can continue to work hard and get better with Harding's Natural State Classic coming up March 25-26 at Red Apple. It will be nice to have some good weather and get the rain out of here, the upcoming forecast looks great for golf!"

"Wilson Powell carded a career low 67 in round two to jump up and finish 4th place and make the all tournament team. He was in 17th place after a round one 73 and made a huge jump to earn a trophy this week at North Creek. Things really clicked for him and I am excited to see what else he does this Spring. The team is a few mental errors away from being competitive. If we can eliminate our big numbers and continue to work on short game, we will keep moving up leaderboards."

WHAT'S UP NEXT FOR UAM GOLF

WOMEN'S GOLF:     March 25th & 26th
Women's Golf will be over in Heber Springs, Arkansas in their third tournament of the spring. The tournament is hosted by Harding University at the Red Apple Inn.


MEN'S GOLF:     March 25th & 26th
Weevils are down in Madison, Mississippi in their next tournament of the spring. The tournament is hosted by Mississippi College in the Mississippi College Spring Invitational at the Lake Caroline Golf Club.
